Sometimes, There Is No Reason

14Mar

This week's message focused on how not everything happens for a reason and how Jesus is still good, even in the middle of everything that may be going wrong.

1. When was the last time someone said to you, everything happens for a reason?  How did that make you feel?

2. In the midst of suffering, do we believe that God’s purposes will still prevail?

3. Read Romans 8:28. What does your understanding of Romans 8:28 reveal to you about God’s character?

4. The quote from Soong-Chan Rah’s book, Prophetic Lament, says “The absence of lament in the liturgy of the American church results in the loss of memory.  We forget the necessity of lamenting over suffering and pain.  We forget the reality of suffering and pain.”  Does this quote speak to your experience?  Why or why not?
