This week's message focused on the story of Cain and Abel, as well as the restoration that God has for us. Consider these questions as they apply to your life.
1. Flip “Do not murder” into a positive prescription.
Example: “Do not commit adultery“ could be - You shall be marriage honoring.
2. What can we learn about Cain’s reaction (God’s rejection of his offering) so we don’t repeat what he did? Especially in situations we feel very strongly about (like losing a game, not being promoted, or being misunderstood).
3. Genesis 4 and 6 both point out the consequences of humans going out on their own. How do you differentiate between your own doing and God’s?
4. How do you feel about being your brother’s keeper? To your neighbors? To your co-workers?
