Escaping Envy

23Nov

This week's message focused on how we can overcome the final enemy of the heart: envy. Consider these questions as they apply to you.

1. Read Genesis 4:1-7. Discuss the story from Cain’s point of view. Discuss the story from Abel’s point of view. Discuss the story from God’s point of view.

2. Do you have any feelings of envy in your heart that you need to examine? Does envy cause you to judge or dislike any group of people? Send a prayer to God to specially change your heart.

3. Pastor Clint says that trusting God do something about your envious thoughts is the pathway to healing. Your community can pray for you too. Share a non specific prayer with your group to support your healing process.

4. In what way can you or your small group incorporate radical generosity towards others as a way to combat envy?
