This week's message focused on the act of forgiveness extended to us by Jesus and how we are to do the same for others. Consider these questions.
1. Read John 20:19 - 23. Quietly sit with those words for a minute. What stands out to you most?
2. “Jesus’ strongest words weren’t for broken people, but for those misusing power,” said Pastor Steve. Discuss this statement with forgiveness in mind.
3. Look up the definition of pardon and forgiveness. What is similar and what is different between these two words?
4. Have you ever been forgiven when you felt you shouldn’t have by another person? If not, have you forgiven someone like Aiden did with Steve? (I don’t talk about it anymore and I don’t stay mad at Steve for scaring me) Please share either situation.
5. Pastor Steve suggests that we do a bit of inventory of anyone you are withholding forgiveness from. Can you think of anyone? Do you need to ask for someone else to forgive you? Do you forgive easily? Do you harbor some resentment quietly towards someone else?
