What does it actually mean to work out your salvation? For 500 years people have argued over whether we are saved by faith or by what we do. In this message by pastor Chris Stockhaus on Philippians 2:12-30, we look at why the answer might be both, and why that turns out to be good news.
We also face the line that has scared a lot of Christians, "work out your salvation with fear and trembling," and ask whether we are really supposed to worry about losing our faith. Along the way we talk about what obedience looks like for a church, which is simply loving each other well, how quiet grumbling can wreck real community, and why God tends to honor the humble servant over the loudest voice in the room.
