SUPPORTING FOSTER KIDS/FAMILIES
Every year, hundreds of children here in Alameda County are displaced from there home due to abuse, and neglect. We believe the church can be part of creating or supporting a loving and safe home for these kids to heal and grow surrounded by God's love.
JOIN OUR CHILD SUPERVISION TEAM - VOLUNTEERING ONCE A MONTH
We support local families currently fostering or have adopted these vulnerable youth. Families meet once a month at a support group facilitated and led at Cornerstone. We eat dinner together and then kids move to a game room, supervised by a trauma trained team while the parents connect and discuss current challenges they are walking through. This support group has been a lifeline and encouragement for many families. Help us provide this support each month by joining our child supervision volunteer team! The volunteer commitment is from 5pm-7pm every 3rd Sunday of the month.
BECOME A SUPPORT FRIEND, WALKING WITH A FOSTER FAMILY EACH MONTH
We want to wrap the families in our church that we know are fostering with a team of 4-5 to support/serve them each week, reminding them they are not alone and we are walking with them in tangible and intangible ways. Some examples of this might be meal delivery, babysitting, supplies needed, notes of encouragement, prayer, etc. If you want to learn more about how to be on this team, attend an interest meeting with Foster the City (either in person on online).
BECOME A FOSTER FAMILY
Far too many children need a stable and loving home. We partner with Foster the City and would love to walk with you as you explore next steps towards this. Attend an interest meeting (either online or in person) for broad information and a team surrounding you for any questions you might have.
ALREADY A FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE FAMILY?
Join our community! We would love to get to know you and your family! We meet as a support group every month on the 3rd Sunday from 5pm-7pm. We eat together, fellowship and share with one another. You could also earn 2 RFA hours for attending.
