Child Dedication at Cornerstone  

Child Dedication is more than a ceremony—it’s a commitment. It’s a moment for parents to publicly commit themselves to raising their child toward an authentic faith in Jesus. It’s also a moment for our church family to commit to coming alongside parents, offering support, encouragement, and community every step of the way.  

We typically hold Child Dedications once a year in the spring. Our next dedication will take place on Sunday, May 7 during our 9 AM & 11 AM services.  

If you’re a parent of a young child (typically birth to around four years old), here’s how you can prepare:  

Step 1: Register for Child Dedication and Orientation  

Sign up using the registration form at the bottom of this page. After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to information about attending our upcoming Parent Orientation.  

Step 2: Attend Parent Orientation  

• Next Date: Sunday, April 27 at 9 AM 
• Location: Livermore Campus (specific room details will be sent closer to the date) 

This required orientation will help you prepare for the dedication and feel confident about this important step. You’ll hear from Pastor Ryan, learn what Child Dedication is all about, and have the chance to ask any questions.  

Step 3: Prepare for Dedication Sunday  

We will email you final instructions, reminders, and a request for any other details we need as we get closer to your event.  

In addition to the email, we encourage you to invite friends and family to celebrate with you. We call this group your Wider Circle; they are an essential part of your Dedication Sunday!   

Step 4: Dedication Sunday  

BEFORE SERVICE  

Before your Dedication Service, we’ll gather for a meaningful time led by Pastor Ryan. This time together will include a short encouragement for your family and a time for parents to share with their wider circles some of the most important elements that shape their parenting over the coming years. (We will talk about this during our Orientation)  

Just before the service starts, we will cover final instructions for the in-service dedication moment on stage and have a chance to ask any questions.  

DURING SERVICE  

• Reserved seating will be provided for families in our service.  

• During the Dedication portion of our service, Families will be invited on stage together (Parents, Siblings, and Child being dedicated) where they will be introduced.  

• Our congregation will be invited to join us in prayer as we pray for  your family and your child.
