About the Event
LivermoreChildcareLivermore
We are offering a support group for parents that have or are currently fostering or have adopted kids. We meet every month on the THIRD Sunday of the month for some food, fellowship, support and some equipping/training (applicable to foster training requirements). There are unique challenges for fostering and adoption. Let's walk through those challenges together and support one another along the way.
Next meeting: Sunday, March 15, 2026, 5:00pm-7:00pm @ Cornerstone Fellowship (348 N. Canyons Pkwy, Livermore)
Topic: Understanding Sensory Processing by Karyn Purves. Sensory processing is an important topic for anyone who loves and cares for a child who have experienced adverse childhood experiences. Because of their histories, these children often experience altered brain development which impacts the way in which they process sensory data. In this brief video, Dr. Karyn Purvis explains what sensory processing is and why an understanding of it is vital for adoptive and foster parents.
This group is open to the community, so please spread the word. Sign up is required so we can plan accordingly and care for the children well during the time of training.
Always go to www.cornerstoneweb.org/fosteradopt for current information. Next meeting is April 19th.
Email erinm@cornerstoneweb.org if you have any questions.
