  2. _____ We are still figuring out (along with every past generation) how to translate the eternal message of Jesus to their specific time and place.
  3. _____ Jesus and Paul illustrated the necessity of translation to show love.
  4. _____ Jesus was the translation of God himself.
  5. _____ The Holy Spirit is writing and translating the eternal new covenant of “Love God and Love Others” on your heart.

CONVERSATION

Let’s dig in to compare and contrast the juxtaposed position Paul took to translate the message of Jesus and think about how it applies in today’s culture.

  1. Read Acts 13:14-52.

Where and who is Paul addressing? How did he specifically speak to the people so they would understand (translation)?  What was the response? Who disagreed? Who is that audience today and what is the impact it is having on the church?

Who in your life do you need to understand more fully to love them? Do your words and actions demonstrate the Holy Spirit’s power over human wisdom?
  2. Read Act 17:16-34.

Where and who is Paul addressing? How did he specifically speak to the culture so people would understand (translation)?  What was the response? Who disagreed? Who is that audience today and what impact is it having on the church?

Who in your life do you need to understand more fully to love them? Are you willing to build a friendship on their interests? Do your words and actions demonstrate the Holy Spirit’s power over human wisdom?
  3. “What Does Love Require?”

What is your greatest take away from this series and how has it affirmed and/or challenged you to love God and love your neighbor?
