Maximum Value - Week 1 - Conversation Guide

Posted by on

Jesus knows our value. In fact, He knows everyone's maximum value. He sees all the ways we were created in the image of God, and He sees the work in progress within each of us. He sees everyone as the perfect version of themselves. What if we followed Jesus and asked Him to empower us to view everyone for who they truly are and the value they bring to our community? The Gospel CALLS us to be radically inclusive and ALL IN to understand our fellow man. How do we do this? Join us for a 3-week series, the beginning of a conversation, where we'll learn and grow together on how to see people as Jesus does - with maximum value.

Maximum Value: You Matter

VALUE is the metric that we use to make daily judgments about ourselves and others. This measurement, in both positive and negative ways, has formed the world we're living in. It's our reason for behaving towards others in all the ways that we do. It is the gatekeeper of our love, time, energy, generosity, and CHOICES. Do you know your value? Do you understand that God knows your maximum value? That you matter! God knows your name. He knows your story, He knows exactly who you are, He loves you, and He values you in ways beyond your imagination.

This week in CF Church Online, John Orozco continues the series. If you have not had a chance to watch his message, we highly encourage you to do so, as it will help provide context moving forward. You can WATCH IT HERE.

After John's message, he joined CF Church Online Pastor Christiaan VandenHeuvel, for a conversation. Let's listen in! Their conversation will prompt you to think about the questions listed below.

Whether you find yourself with a group, a friend, a family member, or are by yourself, take some time to read, process, and discuss/journal through the questions below.

  • Compare and contrast how Jesus vs. cultural society views human value and love.

  • Describe a time when you were or felt excluded. What did you feel? Was there an outcome?

  • Read Acts 10:1-8 - What are your thoughts about Cornelius being a devoted man who feared God and was a Gentile, not a Jew? Who have you put conditions on or been a gatekeeper on love? How do these faulty values cause separation?

  • Read the following passages slowly - What areas of your life do you struggle with your value? How accepting are you of God's love? Which of these passages gives you hope and assurance? Share.

    • John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he chose to give his one and only son... because You Matter.

    • John 10:10 - I have come so that they may have life, life in its fullest measure.. because You Matter.

    • Hebrews 12:2 - For the joy set before Him, endured the cross... because You Matter.

    • Luke 22:19 - This is my body broken for you... because You Matter.

    • Luke 22:20 - This is my blood poured out for you... because You Matter.

  • Share a time when you experienced the love and acceptance of Jesus through someone.
