Be The Bridge Study, Spring - All Campuses
Every Thursday, from 04/15/2021 to 05/20/2021, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
In an era where we seem to be increasingly divided along racial lines, we might be hesitant to step into the gap, fearful of saying or doing the wrong thing. At times the silence, particularly within the church, seems deafening.
We believe that change begins with an honest conversation among a group of Christians willing to give a voice to unspoken hurts, hidden fears, and mounting tensions. This series of ongoing dialogues help us at Cornerstone to have a distinctive and transformative response to racism and racial division.
In her perspective-shifting biblically-based book Be The Bridge, Latasha Morrison shows how we can participate in this incredible work and replicate it in our own communities. With conviction and grace, she examines the historical complexities of racism. She expertly applies biblical principles, such as lamentation, confession, and forgiveness, to lay the framework for restoration.
We will host weekly Be The Bridge Study Meetings via Zoom (every Thursday night, starting on April 15 from 7-8:30 pm).
We will meet first in a large group, after which we are dismissed to our own small-group discussion breakouts. We will listen to each other, pray together, discuss a chapter of the book, and explore other resources to enhance group engagement. We hope that Be the Bridge will show you a compelling vision of what it means for every follower of Jesus to become a bridge builder - committed to pursuing justice.
