This week's message walked us through why we can feel like we're struggling even when we are filled with the Holy Spirit. Consider these questions.
1. Read Galatians 5:13–15.
How do you personally define freedom in Christ? In what ways might that look different from how our culture defines freedom?
2. Reflect on Galatians 5:19–23.
When you think about your own life, where do you notice yourself leaning more toward the “acts of the flesh” versus the “fruit of the Spirit”? Why do you think that path feels easier or more natural?
3. Pastor Steve asked, “What would it look like if all of us stopped sampling God’s presence and actually bought in?”
What would “buying in” look like in your daily life; at home, at work, in relationships, or in our church community?
4. Practice together.
Take a moment to silently name a struggle in your own heart. Then, as a group, pray aloud this prayer of surrender:
“Holy Spirit, I can’t control this. But I trust you. I surrender my struggle to you.”
After praying, share (if you feel comfortable) how it felt to release that to God.
