Support the Persecuted Church - Voice of the Martyrs: December 1-16

An estimated 215 million around the world people suffer persecution because of their Christian faith.  This Christmas season, we can show our love for our Christian family by filling “Action Packs” or “Medical Packs” via Voice of the Martyrs, a Christian nonprofit dedicated to serving the persecuted church.  Choose the “Action Pack”, which you will fill with much-needed supplies like a blanket, toiletries, and t-shirts, or a “Medical Pack”, which will require items like gauze, band-aids, etc.  Both are needed and notes of encouragement and prayers are priceless. Click Here to learn more about the worldwide Christian persecution and why these Action/Medical Packs are an encouragement to others.

How to Fill an Action/Medical Pack:

  1. Click the button below and fill out a short form and complete payment for an Action/Medical Pack. $15 per pack covers the shipping costs (the estimated cost to fill a pack is $30-$35).
  2. Stop by the 12 Days of Serving table during any weekend service and pick up your bag, along with specific instructions and information on how to fill your bag.
  3. Return your filled bag to the 12 Days of Serving Table by December 16.

Make Lap Blankets for Seniors: December 8

11am to 12pm
Brentwood Campus, Community Room
Let’s show seniors in our community that we care for them!  Many seniors need small blankets that won’t get caught in their wheelchairs but still keep them warm.  We will meet at the Brentwood Campus and together, make the perfect size “no-sew” fleece blankets to be delivered to local senior centers!  This is great for all ages and no sewing experience is needed!

Contra Costa County Social Worker Luncheon: December 4

11am to 1pm
Our county social workers are often overworked and underappreciated and we can attest that they have a tough job.  Social Workers are on the front lines every day, ensuring that children are safe and foster kids are in loving homes.  We can show our local social workers that we appreciate them by hosting a potluck for them. If you have a favorite soup or chili recipe and crock-pot, then this volunteer opportunity is for you!

We will also be collecting gift cards in $10 increments for local ice cream shops, bowling, movie theaters, etc. to give to the social workers for when they take their foster child for an outing.

Shepherd’s Gate Women’s Dinner: December 9

5:30pm to 8pm
Brentwood Campus, Community Room
Instead of a Christmas Dinner for ourselves, the Women’s Ministry Team decided to host the same dinner for the women and children of Shepherd’s Gate!  This will be a time where we get to honor the women and children with great food and love - reminding each one of them that they are not only loved by us but by Jesus as well.  Volunteer to help with party prep and decorations/set-up/clean up!

You can also donate gift cards to Target or Walmart in $10 increments to add to a special gift-bag for each guest.  Drop off your gift card donation at the 12 Days of Serving table in the courtyard before/after Sunday services.
